Last year we flew to New Zealand for Easter and this year we had thought about going to Italy. But since we had only recently returned from Italy we decided to wait until the end of Summer. So without any travel plans we decided it was the perfect opportunity to drive down to London and Reading and do some home grown sightseeing. We do not have so many friends left in London now as many of them have returned to New Zealand. Another two couples were busy moving flat so we decided it would be best to see them another time to give them a chance to settle in. But we still managed to catch up with a number of friends that we had not seen in a very long time.
We went for a very long walk around Richmond park, and it was quite amazing to see so much countryside in London. There were quite a lot of deer there, a number of different herds. It was a windy day and a number of people were out flying kites of a very impressive size. There were a couple of lakes inside the park and the waves lapping at the shore reminded me of home, and that was good. We also had a good stroll around Windsor, and naturally we had devonshire teas too! We’ve already made plans to go back again soon I hope. In London I had fun being nosy around camden markets and managed to find some good bargains there too. Interestingly I came across a booth where someone was selling Maori designs and Greenstone from New Zealand.
