Alice in plane as volcano erupts

Iceland? Eruptions?  What is that all about?  When somebody told me they had a friend who was going to Iceland to see the volcano I thought they were pulling my leg … again!  These English and their sense of humours, I’m always getting caught out – never knowing when they are telling the truth and when they are having a laugh.  In time, maybe?

This time I thought they were joking, but no, they were in fact telling the truth.  I found this out when I received an update from Reuters that showed photos and videos from Iceland.  The article talked about planes being cancelled from throughout the world because of the ash from the volcano.

The theme of volanic eruptions and planes reminds me of that time in New Zealand when I was in the plane as it went over Mount Ruapehu just as it was erupting!
