Years ago I belonged to the University Salsa Club. Our instructor was from London and his wife was from South America. We had fantastic fun. We did the Cubana style dancing. Its been many years now since I did any dancing at all. I had forgotten just how tiring it can be. It really is a fantastic cardio and no doubt is good for toning too. I’ve now gone back to Salsa dancing and this time I am learning the “New York” style with Simon, the Mambo King, from Flip & Bounce Promotions.
Back in February I started going to those Zumba classes I had heard so much about last year from friends. It was rather difficult to follow and most tiring too. Six months went past, as each week I tried to convince myself to go back to Zumba. Each week there was another excuse. However the most common excuse was that I was simply too exhausted.
I feel rejuvinated lately though, and last week I made the leap and finally went back. I went back to Zumba class, after a six month lag. I really enjoyed it! Its still a challenge, but I’ve now started practising at home with those DVDs for Zumba. Zumba is brilliant training for salsa dancing because it uses the salsa dance step, samba, and mambo, and many others.
