The first time I heard the music of Richard Clayderman I was in my second year at high school. I was so excited to receive a package from the States. It was a letter and Richard Clayderman tape from my childhood sweetheart from North Carolina! I wonder what happened to him? He played the violin in the New York symphony orchestra and was also a brilliant singer.
As for those tapes, whatever happened to them? I cannot remember where I have put those tapes now, they must be lost. But I can remember that Richard Clayderman was playing live in concert with an orchestra. It was a very inspiring tape and most romantic. That was my first introduction to Richard Clayderman.
Since then I have obtained music scores with his piano music. Another good friend of mine gave me the piano music score for Richard Clayderman pieces, and I have enjoyed playing these on the piano myself. Whenever I feel like I need to do something to relax then I play Richard Clayderman pieces on the piano, that always puts me in a good mood.
Some of the most popular pieces are Ballade Pour Adeline, Dolannes Melodie, and Lettre A Ma Mere.
