Were you caught out in the snow yesterday? I wasn’t supposed to be in Derby, but our travel plans had completely gone out the window. Its not too unusual. Lately, we make plans but then change them at the last moment.
Anyway, getting back to the snow. In the end, we decided to walk into Derby city. It was a good couple of miles. So with the walking around in the city centre, added to walking back again, we must have done seven miles at the very least.
The weather forecast was that snow would arrive at 3pm. At 10am/11am as we were walking outside we spotted some light snow showers. We planned to get home before 3pm. So we left town at 2pm to head back. We had not even reached the edge of the city, and it had already started to snow heavily. It was an odd sensation to walk three to four miles in the snow. It accumulated on my scarf and fell into my face.
The cold I had recently acquired wasn’t being helped by this! But the exercise is good, I’m sure. I also wore about five layers of wool, plus two woollen hats. So I was very warm, too warm in fact!
