Beginner’s introduction to reading and writing music
Duration: 1.5 Hours
Charge per person: £2 (includes tuition and handouts that will be given out during class for students to take home)
Maximum number of people who can attend: 8
Age group of participants: 16 years and above
Equipment they need to bring: A pen
Course Outcomes:
- At the end of this course, learners will identify note values and rest values and basic time signatures. They will understand basic pitch, draw their own bar lines and distinguish between the clefs, treble and bass. Learners will name the notes on the stave and identify accidentals.
- During the class I will be using the Casio Privia electronic piano to demonstrate the pitch parts of the lesson.
- Students will work in pairs to compose their own two bar piece of music. At the conclusion of the lesson, all pairs will perform the music they composed in front of the rest of the class.
